"Exploring Scottish Hill Tracks - An Illustrated Route Guide for Walkers and Mountain Bikers" by Ralph Storer. The book contains a number of suggested routes through and around some of Scotland's mountain areas using the network of old military and drovers roads that still can be found today. The books starts off with a potted history of these roads and how they came into being and then goes on to give quite detail route descriptions through some of the more remote and off the beaten track locations in Scotland. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone who is looking to discover some out of the way locations in Scotland. |
