| Harvey Maps | Whilst the book covers her climbing and mountaineering life. It also details her relationship with her husband Jim Ballard, who encouraged her in to professional mountaineering as a means to make ends meet for the whole family. Suffice to say, I didn't come away with that good an impression of him - it is interesting to note that he is not credited in the authors' acknowledgments at the front of the book. | |

| Travel | The book skirts around one of the major controversies, as such, that surrounded Alison Hargreaves in life and death and that was the morality of a mother risking her life in the pursuit of her sport - e.g. society doesn't condemn a father who takes part in high risk sports, but a woman achieving the same as a man is criticised by the majority of society. A discussion into how her peers thought of this at the time would have been worth while. | |

| An okay read, that casts more light on to the life of a person who died too soon. It perhaps could have done with more picture plates, as it only has 8 pages worth, given the Alison Hargreaves was a mountaineer, there should have been more mountain photographs available. | ||
