Well enough was enough, after 7 months (albeit the last holiday was in Morocco!) without a day off I needed to seriously de-stress. So having booked a week off, we (myself and Jacqueline (the girlfriend)) set about looking for a cottage to rent.
We ended up looking for our cottage in Northumberland. Its always for me been one of those places that you pass through - whether you be taking the East Coast Mainline or the often treacherous A1. So this time around we resolved to holiday there. The attraction for a big kid like myself of castles and big beaches was too much :o)
Through cottages4you.co.uk we selected Fisher's Cottage in the village of Horncliffe, 6 miles from Berwick-upon-Tweed. Our criteria was simple - log burning stove or fire and not to far to the pub. Well Fisher's Cottage had all of that. The pub in fact was only 30 yards away (winner!).To find out more about the week away, click on one of the links below.
